Wednesday, November 16, 2005advance booking please?while i like spontaneity and i am guilty of last min rush, i get rather peeved when someone does last min thing with me, like watching a movie. especially when it's the premiere of harry porter. hey, everybody knows it's hot. and if you have the intention of watching, then book in advance. and also book me in advance. i do not reserve my time for anyone unless you state your intention to spend it with me. first come first serve. take your slots early. not that i'm hot property but it's only right that you ask a person whether he/she is free on this date you intend to see him. it's a sincere gesture to me, last min arrangements always seemed to me a convenient decision you have just made. of coz unless it's an emergency of anyone who needs a listening ear, that will always take first priority for me. in fact someone else who has the initiative to book the tickets in advance asked me first. he makes sure he lets his intention known and let me check my schedule and he already has the tickets. good seats i bet. that's the thing i hate about making last min decision on movies. simple logic: the early bird gets the worm. i have no wish to be up close and personal with the stars in the movie and feel like a dwarf tilting my head at a position that leaves me with a trobbling headache afterwards. that's one of those situations when you do not want to be the front of the pack. yes while i enjoy the joy of meeting someone i know on the street and catching up, or having surprise visits or call to meet up, i dislike it to come from you over and over again. ask me what i'm doing tonight. then state your intentions. i realised that's mostly coming from the guys. yeah i know, you want to make it seem casual, to lessen the jibe of rejection but if you are really sincere, make an appointment with me. book my time. i'm happy to give my time to people who make an effort to make plans. oh yeah, and a greater evil about this is when some people do not have the courtesy to reply me when i said i've some other plans. it's a personal preference, i know people who does not see the point of sending short 'ok' messages. i just find it plain rude. so the point is? surprises are good once in a while, but the limit comes when it ventures into taking me for granted. amaranthine froze in time on 2:22 PM |
